CVS Deals - Week of 9/28

I was not happy when I saw my CVS ad in Sunday's newspaper. It was totally different than the preview ad scans that were being shown by other websites. The images were HUGE... and that means that there are fewer items available for ECB deals.

Our stores were missing sales on things like the Sunsilk and Gillette shampoos, the razors, and more. But I made the best of it on my first run this week. I'll have to dig through the ad with a fine tooth comb and see what else I can uncover before week's end.

Here's the deal I got today. It was pretty good considering the fact that I didn't find everything I thought should be on sale.

Transaction #1:
Covergirl Clean Liquid makeup $5.49
Covergirl gel eyeshadow pencil $5.99

-$1 Covergirl coupon from P&G insert last Sunday
-$5.49 Covergirl BOGO coupon from P&G insert last Sunday
-$2 off any $10 purchase
-$3 ECBs from last week

Total: $0.00 plus tax OOP
Earn: $5.49 ECBs (Cover Girl Clean Makeup)

Transaction #2:
2 Colgate Total toothpastes $2.50 each
1 Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo 3.5 oz. $2.19
3 Johnson & Johnson buddies bar soaps $1.19 each
1 20 oz. Sierra Mist $1.49

-$1.00 Colgate coupon from previous CVS receipt
-$1.50 x 2 Colgate coupons from All You Magazine
-$1.00 Johnson & Johnson coupon (here) *Coupon is for Melt Away Stress, but the fine print says you can use it for any Johnson's product.
-$3.00 Johnson's Buddies coupon from recent Sunday insert
-$2.00 off any $10 purchase

Total: $2.25 plus tax OOP
Earn: $2.00 ECBs (Colgate)

So I walked in with $3 in ECBs, spent $2.25 plus tax, got lots of goodies, and walked out with $7.49 in ECBs for my next round!

I also got some coupons on my receipt.... not a $4 off $20 as I had hoped, but still coupons. One was for $1 off Revlon. Here's how I might use that one for a little ME-splurge!

Buy 2 Revlon lip glosses $6.49 each - $12.98
-$6.49 - Revlon BOGO sale at CVS this week
-$2.00 x 2 Revlon coupons from recent newspaper insert
-$1.00 Revlon coupon from today's receipt
=$1.49 for two lip glosses

If I can work this in with another purchase (more Colgate maybe??), I can use a $2 off $10 coupon too and maybe even earn some ECBs in the process. I'll let you know if I come with another creative scenario!
