School Pictures - Breaking the Bank?

Our daughter has her first ever school picture day tomorrow. For new readers, our daughter started going to preschool a couple of weeks ago. She goes to a pre-K through 8th grade Christian school at our church, so everyone is getting pictures taken tomorrow.

I couldn't believe the prices for her pictures! The cheapest package was $11.00, and it included a 4 wallet-sized prints and 8 1-1/2 x 2 1/2 prints. EEKS! The packages go all the way up to $57.00. You still only get 4 8x10s with that one.

I was thrilled to see that some of the packages included a Portrait CD. Now we're talking! We used our last Sears portrait CD to get additional prints, Christmas cards, and photo gifts made. So we're going to get the least expensive package that includes a portrait CD. It's $30.00, but we'll use it again to make other prints and gifts. In fact, my grandma is due for a new 11x14 portrait for her Wall of Grandchildren.

Hopefully the wiggly one will stay put long enough for the photographer to snap a good picture for us!
