I Caved and Went to Kroger

I wasn't planning on hitting any of the stores this week, as my pantry is well-stocked and my grocery bill was around $80 last week. But the Kroger ad made me change my mind. Well... that and the fact that there was only lettuce, spinach, and half a green pepper left in my veggie drawer! Kroger has some great deals this week. You can read my post about them HERE. I spent a total of $45.18 for everything pictured above.

I was thrilled to find the Underjams night pull-ups on a manager's clearance for only $5.49. I also had a $1.50 off coupon that came with a sample of these. I liked them better than the Huggies GoodNites, so this was an extra-sweet deal. The only bad part is that it looks like Kroger won't be carrying them any more. And there was only one pack left. But we got a great deal on that one pack!

I also snagged some wheat bread for only 89 cents, another manager's special. The only thing I couldn't find were the $2 boxes of Cheerios. I'm going to check the Kroger in the town where I work on Friday. If they don't have them either, then I'm definitely going to get a rain check. I have some $1 off 1 coupons, making these boxes of cereal only $1 for me! I can't pass that up!

Once I buy the Cheerios, my total grocery bill for this week will be around $55.00. That's not bad. In fact, it's where I'd like to keep it, if not a little lower than that. But right now I'm happy with that number. If I can keep hitting the sales and stockpiling different items at rock bottom prices, I should be able to maintain that low of a bill. Yay!
