Review & Giveaway: all small & mighty 3x

I was thrilled to receive in the mail a 96 load bottle of the new all small & mighty 3x laundry detergent! I couldn't believe how compact the bottle was, and I was ready to give it a try. I've been using the all for the last two weeks, and I'm happy to say that I'm quite pleased with it!

Yesterday the all got its true test.... Let me set the stage. On the days that I work, I try to set out clothes for Emma to wear. My husband is quite capable of doing this, but he's told me that it makes it much easier and quicker to finish the morning routine if the clothes are out. (Ahh... Let's just be honest here.... The control freak in me loves picking out her clothes anyhow!) I forgot to put her clothes out for yesterday, and Jason chose a cute little summer outfit for her to wear. The only problem was that it was an outfit that I usually don't put on her when she's going to play outside. And boy, did she play! The pants had HUGE grass stains all over them! It was quite obvious that she had a ball rolling through the yard!

I pretreated the stains with Shout. I usually fold the clothes Shout-side-in until I wash them, but there were so many stains that it was impossible to find a dry side to leave out! I didn't let them sit too long before I washed them. I used the all small & mighty 3x, thinking that these pants would truly be a test of this detergent! And it passed with flying colors... hot pink to be exact. The pants came out all hot pink without grass stains.... perfect!

We do a lot of laundry around here. With a four-and-a-half-year-old, much of it is stained! The all has been great for getting out stains and leaving our clothes smelling fresh. I haven't even been using softener on my clothes this summer. (I had a little incident where softener left marks on some of my tops... ugh!) The all seems to be leaving my clothes soft enough that I'm not missing my softener. So it gets two thumbs up from me!

The generous people at all have given me two coupons to give away to my blog readers. Each one is good for a FREE bottle of all small & mighty 3x detergent (up to $6.50)! There are four ways that you can enter.
  1. Leave a comment telling the story of one of your worst/funniest laundry problems. We've all had them. We may as well laugh about them!

  2. Subscribe to this site's email updates. You can do this by entering your email address in the subscription box in the upper right corner of this page. You will need to confirm your subscription by clicking the link that is emailed to you. If you are a new subscriber or if you already subscribe, leave a comment letting me know that you're subscribing.

  3. Become a follower of Saving & Giving. You can click the Follow button under the heading Followers of Saving and Giving on the right side of the page. If you become a new follower or if you are already a follower, leave a comment letting me know.

  4. If you have a blog, write a post about this giveaway. Direct your readers here so that they can enter too. If you do this, please leave a comment with the link to your post (not your home page, but directly to the post).

If you're entering more than once, please leave separate comments for each method of entry. If you list all of your entries in one comment, then you only end up with one entry. I want you to have as many chances as possible to win!

I'll use random.org to choose the two winning comment numbers on Friday, July 3 at 9:00 p.m. EST. Good luck!

When I first got married, I didn't have a lot of experience washing clothes. I washed my husbands work clothes, and then left them in the washer for 24 hours. I then threw them in the dryer, and he grabbed an outfit to wear the next day. He came home and told me the clothes smelled so bad, he had to go on his lunch break and buy a whole new outfit!

It isn't that funny, but I like All Small and Mighty because we have to carry our laundry to go to the designated area in our apartment complex. This also lasts a long time for us.

Is it funny that I washed my cell and placed it in the dryer and it worked after all was said and done?

It also smelled really nice

My husband never checks the boys pockets and so I usually don't "let" him do the laundry. He was trying to be helpful one weekend and washed all the boys jeans and one red crayon! They went through the dryer to and about $100 worth of jeans seemed to be ruined. Luckily we were able to use some really great products by Melaleuca and all the stains came out. Needless to say I do all of the laundry now, no helping allowed. :)

My funniest laundry problem is that I sometimes forget tissues in the pockets of my dresses, skirts, and pants. My husband usually does the laundry and he does n-o-t check the pockets before he washes clothes. So sometimes a load comes out of the washer with wet shredded tissues all over it. What a mess!

I didn't think this was possible but my daughter somehow or another used two much fabric softener...so it didn't all rinse out and the next day all the clothes actually felt slimy..but I didn't want her to feel bad so I waited until she was gone to rewash!

Our biggest laundry disaster had to be the time that the timer or something went out on the washing machine and it just kept filling. We didn't know and when I went downstairs I stepped into about 3in of water! It had filled both our laundry room and the room next door. Luckily we had a sump pump downstairs or it could have been much worse!

how many laundry problems do you want? between the usual crayons in the dryer, occasional sea shells from the beach in the washer and dryer, and my all time pet peeve is my husband leaving bottle tops (like Coors or bottle A&W root beer) that are metal and not only try to catch on fire in the dryer but they also cut and slice and tear up our clothes in the process.

Hi. I do a lot of wash for the grandkids. Some FREE ALL would really help.

My calamities come when I don't check pockets first. When the boys were little, they put EVERYTHING in their pockets...like CRAYONS! Try washing those stains out....ouch! One of my favorite shirts was in with that load....:(

The bottle looks so small, but I hope it'll last for a long time. In our family we're bound to find not only stained clothes going in the washer, but rocks, grass, flowers, hot wheels, pennies, and earbuds.

I have a new baby and my worst laundry disaster was putting him in slightly small disposables (we usually cloth). The blow out came out not only the back, but the front top too. And at an immigration interview.

when i first moved out during college i had really no laundry experience... SO i threw my laundry in the washer... and forgot about it! I went back like two days later and it smelled soooo bad! Let's just say my roomies were NOT happy with me!

The funniest story I can think of when it comes to laundry is a story about my husband. Last year we purchased a front loading washing machine. I had went to visit my mom for the weekend to help her with some things. My teenage son had to call me and tell me that dad did not know how to open the dispenser to put the detergent in. My son did know how to do it and had to show him before he pulled the handle off! Right then all three of my boys made the comment that dad does need you because he doesn't even know how to do laundry! HA!

Well, I guess there's the time a week after my baby was born that I accidentally washed and dried a tube of chapstick in with my husbands dress shirts. I was in tears with all the oily stains! Fortunately, my mother-in-law and my mom spent hours with an iron and some paper towels and got almost all of it out!

You would have thought my daughter would have learned her lesson the first time I washed her mp3 player, but no she had to try it again. Amazingly, it still works! We use a lot of the ALL free and clear at our house.

A while back, I found a pile of my husband's work shop red cleaning rags on the front stoop. I knew they had been washed several time before and they didn't appear to be dirty. So, I thought maybe he had put them there so that they would be freshly washed or something like that. So I washed them...with a load of clothes. And as I removed the load from the washer, I realized that everything had a slight red tint...and looked like it had oily spots all over. Turns out, my husband had helped a friend out who had his car vandalized (the rags were covered in Vaseline). Nice. So after about 6 loads of treating and air drying, our clothes were back to normal.

One of my worst laundry experiences was when my husband left gum in his pants pockets!

My husband always chews gum, so of course he left some in his shirt pocket. It was washed and dryed and thankfully it only ruined the one shirt!

My worst laundry nightmare is stickers. My daughter sticks them on all her clothes (and mine) and we've ruined several shirts when I've missed them and they've gone through the dryer.

My husband threw his red shirt in the washer and the next morning I put in a full load of whites not realizing what he had done the night before. We finally got most of the red tint out of the towels and sheets. He doesn't use the washer as catch-all for dirty clothes any more.
