Kmart Round 2

I stopped by Kmart for a quick, unplanned shopping trip on my lunch hour today. I went to check out the clearance toys (see HERE), but they didn't have much at that particular store. I grabbed my coupon binder to see if there were any other deals that were too good to pass up. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the store had actually restocked some of the items that were gone when I was there Monday. They usually seem to just let the stock go until the week is over. So, here's what I ended up with:

Merchandise Total Value: $49.85
Coupon Total: -$43.73
Out-of-Pocket Total: $6.12 plus tax
Savings: 87%

1 hanging bag of Lifesaver Pep-o-Mints (My husband LOVES these!) - $1.67
1 Pantene Full & Thick shampoo - $3.33
1 Pantene Full & Thick conditioner - $3.34
1 Pantene Anti-Frizz Serum - $6.49
1 Pantene Hair Balm - $5.39
4 Dove Ultimate deodorants - $15.96 ($3.99 each)
2 Kotex liners - 18 count - $2.58 ($1.29 each)
2 Crystal Light (makes 12 quarts) - $6.00 ($3.00 each)
2 Campbell's Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom - $2.98 ($1.49 each)
1 Mike & Ike clearance candy (not shown) - $.62
1 Diet Mt. Dew (my coffee) - 20 ounce - $1.49
Merchandise Total: $49.85

*DRAMATIC PAUSE HERE* Please use this experience to help yourself remember to use your calculator to add up your total purchases. I didn't even think about the $5 off $50 coupon (HERE) that was in my coupon binder. I could have bought a pack of gum or something and gotten $5 off my total bill! OOPS! Hopefully this will remind you to not make the same mistake. Now back to the deal.....

Coupons Used:
-$1.00 off Lifesavers - from a bag we bought when we traveled last weekend
-$2.00 off Pantene Full & Thick shampoo from 7/5 P&G insert - doubled to FREE
-$2.00 off Pantene Full & Thick shampoo from 7/5 P&G insert - doubled to FREE
-$5.39 - Free styler with shampoo purchase from 7/5 P&G insert - FREE
-$6.49 - Free styler with shampoo purchase from 7/5 P&G insert - FREE
-$2.00 off Dove Ultimate coupons (HERE) - doubled to FREE
* Note: You'll need 2 computers to print 4 copies of the coupon.
-$1.50 off 2 Kotex coupon from June All You Magazine - doubled to FREE
-$1.00 off 2 Crystal Light coupon from a home mailer - doubled to $2.00 off
-$1.00 off 2 Campbell's cooking soup coupon (HERE) - doubled to $2.00 off
-$.50 off Pepsi coupon from a gas station tearpad - doubled to $1.00 off
I had more than 10 coupons, so I saved the $.50 off until last, assuming that it wouldn't be doubled. I wanted to make sure that my 10 high-value coupons were doubled first. But I had a great (and quick!) cashier, and she doubled all of them! Yay!
Coupon Total: -$43.73

Out-of-Pocket Total: $6.12 plus tax
Savings: 87%

There was also a new $1.00 off Lifesavers coupon in the bag of Lifesavers I got today. I can save this and get another free bag during the next round of super double coupons.

I also got 2 catalinas back, one for $5 off $50 grocery and drug store purchase and one $5 off $25 health and beauty purchase. They're good through 7/23, so I don't know that I'll have a chance to use them during this round of super doubles. I may be Kmart-ed out this week!

To view the first Kmart trip I did earlier this week, head over HERE. I got $38.76 worth for $3.79!

I'm usually just a lurker on blogs, but you deserve a comment for this. That Pantene deal you've worked up is great!

I'm new to budgeting (just got married last year and husband is trying to get more time at home, meaning less money) and your blog has become a daily read for me.

Thanks for the help!
