Works for Me Wednesday: Lazy Frozen Yogurt

I love ice cream! But it's not exactly a healthy food choice, so we don't keep it on-hand on a regular basis. And we don't own an ice cream maker (probably a good thing) which would allow us to make a bit healthier ice cream. So I've been doing the next best thing.... I call it Lazy Frozen Yogurt.

My daughter has a snack at about 7:30 each evening. I get the munchies around 9:30. So, while she's snacking, I slip a cup of yogurt into the freezer. When 9:30 rolls around, I pull it out and .... VOILA! My own frozen yogurt!

I was actually surprised at how creamy it was. Now, I did leave one cup in too long. It became rock hard. Not what I was after! But the 90 minute to 2 hour mark seems to give me creamy frozen yogurt. Even my husband was impressed. He had me throw a cup in for him tonight!

D.I.Y Lazy Frozen Yogurt works for me!

Hi, great idea! I make my own plain yogurt, can I use it? Thanks!

I don't see why not! If I had plain yogurt, I might sweeten it and add a touch of fruit before freezing. Using your own would probably be even more delicious!
