My usual goal at CVS is to walk out with at least as many Extra Care Bucks as I walked in with (plus some needed products!). I'm especially excited when I walk out with MORE than I walked in with! But tonight I walked out with FEWER Extra Care Bucks than I started with.... and it's going to save us money.
I've found myself stopping at the gas station or convenience store regularly on the mornings when I'm working. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I need a little pick-me-up in the morning. Diet Mt. Dew is my caffeinated beverage of choice. But I cringe every time I hand over $1.79 for a 20 ounce bottle! OUCH!
So, tonight I stopped at CVS for body wash and ended up taking advantage of the Pepsi deal that ended today. It cost me a few ECBs, but I think it will save us a LOT in the long run.
Here's what I got:
4 12-packs of Mt. Dew/Diet Mt. Dew - 4 for $12.00
1 Softsoap Nutri Serums body wash - $4.99
Coupons Used:
$2.00 off Softsoap body wash printable coupon (no longer available??)
$12.86 in Extra Care Bucks
$2.13 (plus tax) from my last gift card (filled a new prescription - used Target coupon)
Out-of-Pocket: $0 (thanks to the gift card)
ECBs Earned: $8.00 ($4 Softsoap, $4 Pepsi)
The Extra Care Buck part of both deals ended today. But I did want to share with you my reasoning behind the "burning of the bucks." I'm thinking that having 36 cans of Diet Mt. Dew on-hand means a LOT less stopping and spending in the mornings.

It's 8:37 am and I'm sitting here drinking my DMD as I type. I totlally feel your pain! :)
I had built up so many ECB that I did the same thing this week. Mountain Dew for hubby!
I feel your pain on that $1.79 for a 20 oz drink; I have a hard time giving $1.49 for a 20 oz coke; so if I don't have any at home I try to leave home earlier enough to stop by CVS and get one using ECB's...
i am also a diet dew junkie! i did the same think with mt ecbs went in with 10 came out with 8, oh well i'm not tempted to spend $.50 a day at work!
