I just stumbled upon this fun Christmas gift idea that also helps charity. I like when gifts serve two purposes! Kohl's has a program called Kohl's Cares for Kids, and each year they offer stuffed animals, books, etc. to raise money for their charity. This year, they're some of Emma's all-time favorite book characters! It's the mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and all of his friends! The best part is that they're only $5 each! I checked Kohls.com, but they only have one book left. I did a little hunting and, between my store and the one near my brother's house, I found all four books and all four plush characters. My brother graciously agreed to pick up the ones near him tomorrow. (Thanks, Jeff! You're such a good uncle!) Emma will be SO excited!
I just wanted to let you know about them in case you had a big mouse fan in your house and a Kohl's store nearby.

Great Christmas gift idea!! thanks for sharing.
they don't just do this at Christmas - they do it all year long! we've gotten many of our favorite books (how do dinosaurs..., dr. seuss, etc.) for only $5 with all of it going to a great cause! :-)
I often give to World Vision when buying for "the person who has everythng". You can be so specific as to what you want your donation to go towards. I often use this when attending an event that asks "no gifts please". For example my girlfriend had a bunny themed 1st BDay party for her little girl. Knowing Syndey didn't need any gifts she asked us all to come without gifts. I donated, in Sydeny's name, two bunnies that would reproduce and provide income for a family in need. It was perfect. I prefer World Vision as 100% goes to the needy and 0% goes to admin. costs.
