Baking Cookies for Santa

This is the first year that Emma's been interested in Santa at all, so it's been kind of fun. She's made up her mind that she has to leave cookies for Santa... Not just any old cookies, mind you! Hers have to be "shape cookies with icing and sprinkles." Hmm... We've never made cutout cookies!

I went hunting for a recipe and found a great one at allrecipes.com (HERE). I mixed them up this morning, and they chilled while we shopped today. This evening we rolled up our sleeves and rolled out some cookies. I was pleasantly surprised at how much Emma was into it! I guess the pictures tell it all...

Tomorrow night will be icing night! Did you know that Santa must have chocolate sprinkles??

She looks like she's having a ball! What a wonderful memory! She'll remember this for years to come on how SHE made Christmas cookies for Santa!! Thanks for sharing! And, of course, Santa loves chocolate sprinkles!! Who doesn't?!?! :-)

She is very sweet! I like how she is rolling out the dough and cutting out the cookies by herself! I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!

I know Santa will appreciate those cookies and the hard work and thought that went into them. Merry Christmas!
