Hubby Goes Shopping: The No Picture Version

My husband and daughter headed out to run some errands today and picked up a few odds and ends for us while they were out. He was really quick to put everything away (Thank You!!!), so we don't have pictures to show this time. Here's how they did.

Riesbeck's (Local Grocery Chain)
What They Bought
:
1/2 pound icing (for tomorrow's preschool birthday treats)
1 gallon of milk
1 loaf of bread
Total Spent: $7.38
Total Saved (store sales): $.90

CVS
They did an official CVS deal on this run! I sent them with a list, the coupons, the ECBs, and a general idea of how much the total should be. They did the rest!
What They Bought:
1 12-pack Sierra Mist - $3.34
1 12-pack Diet Mt. Dew - $3.33
2 TrueNorth Nuts - $6.00
3 Stacy's Bagel Chips - $7.41

Coupons Used:
-$1.00 off x 2 True North printable coupons
-$1.00 off Stacy's printable coupon
-$1.00 off Stacy's coupon from 1/24 SmartSource insert
-$10.00 ECBs from last week

Out-of-Pocket Cost: $5.08 plus tax
ECBs Earned: $10.00
Savings: $15.00 (75%)

I love that my husband can work a CVS deal like a pro!

You'll notice that I've updated our yearly grocery spending to reflect this purchase. However, I am not counting the CVS trip toward our total, as most of the trip is for Emma's party.

Maria - I actually get everything together ahead of time and clip it all to the shopping list. That seems to work the best. If he can just hand everything to the cashier, it's easier. Plus our favorite cashier was working this morning. That's an added bonus!

Hope - I'm about an hour and a half east of you. Drop me an email at savingandgiving@gmail.com, and maybe we can connect sometime when we're coming through that way!
