We're officially through week three of the Eat from the Pantry Challenge. One week left, and I'm starting to see daylight in my freezer! We've tried new soups, used up some canned goods that have been around for a while, and saved a lot of money. In fact, we didn't even shop much this week. Here's the rundown.
Kroger
Emma and I stopped for the fastest trip in a LONG time. We just needed milk, green peppers, and bananas. Well, and... uhm... a cookie.... The Grandma's kind because there are two in the package, and we're good at sharing. (The bakery didn't have any out for Emma, and I'd promised her a cookie at Kroger. Can't break that promise!)
Total Spent: $5.81
Total Saved: $.40 (The milk was on sale.)
CVS
I actually stopped at CVS last Saturday and forgot to post the trip. OOPS! Here's what I got.
Starting ECBs: $4.00
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $4.94 plus tax
Ending ECBS: $12.00
I also used a $5 off $30 coupon I received via email.
These were mostly last week's deals, but you can still snag the Oust and Cheerios and earn ECBs. The purple nail polish was something else I'd promised Emma, (I love that she's a girly girl!) and the Ivory soap was needed for a preschool project. The Johnson's Buddies soaps are for next year's Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. We also had 2 free Coke 20 oz., but my husband drank one. These were bought with our My Coke Rewards certificates.
I was able to snag 6 12-packs of pop for Emma's upcoming birthday party this week. You can read about that in my post HERE. I'm not counting that in this week's grocery/drugstore spending, as I have a separate budget for her party.
