Kmart & Printable Coupons

After our conversation in the Kmart post HERE, I emailed Kmart's customer service to get the final word on whether or not they accept printable coupons. Below is the response I received. We were right! If your store has been denying them, email customer service (Custrel@customerservice.kmart.com) and take their reply with you to the store.

Thank you for your recent correspondence. We are always interested in hearing from our customers. Thank you for your interest in using Internet coupons at our Kmart stores.

Kmart does accept secure print-at-home coupons. Kmart can only accept print-at-home coupons if they scan properly at checkout. Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special software designed to print a properly rendered bar code on the coupon and limit the number of coupons printed. If the coupon does not scan properly it cannot be accepted. Kmart will not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product's value. For example, a $2 off coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. If there are exceptions, Kmart is usually provided advance notice by the manufacturer. Coupons will be rejected if they appear distorted or blurry, altered in any way, or are obvious duplicates. Kmart will not accept "FREE product" (no purchase required) print-at-home coupons. It is currently an industry practice not to produce print-at-home manufacturer's coupons for free product.Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.

96 Loads of Laundry & One Happy Dog

I stopped by Kmart for the first time during this week of not-so-super double coupons. I wasn't sure if I'd be met with some resistance from the cashier or if things would run smoothly. (Read some of the comments about other readers' Kmart experiences on the post over HERE). I was pleasantly surprised with an upbeat cashier who rang everything up with a smile.

I ended up with enough All detergent to do 96 loads of laundry. And, since we were out of dog biscuits before this trip, I also ended up with one happy little dog. Here's what I got.

All Laundry Detergent (32 load size) - $4.00
Used $2.00 off coupon from 2/7 RedPlum insert (doubled to $4)
Final Price: FREE

Hartz Crunch 'n Clean Dog Biscuits - $3.99
Used $2.00 off printable Hartz coupon (doubled to $3.99)

Final Price: $0 + $.71 tax

Is it just me, or do you also have a hard time paying just tax at checkout? Do you get strange looks from the cashier? Or a pat on the back? I was buying a little summer purse with this transaction, so I paid almost $20. But I'm always a little weirded out by owing nothing or next-to-nothing. I really need to get over that, don't I?

So Have You Shopped the Super Double Coupons at Kmart?

I haven't been to Kmart yet this week, but I was wondering how the latest super double coupon event was going. Has anyone been there yet? Have they been strict about coupons? I've heard rumors that they're not accepting more than 1 of a particular coupon from each customer each day, but that could just be a rumor. Leave me a comment telling me about your Kmart experience this week. Maybe I'll brave it later in the week!

Kmart Super Doubles Begin

I'm not sure if we should call these Super Doubles or Not-So-Super Doubles this time. Kmart has tightened the restrictions for this round of coupon doubling. You will need to have a Shop Your Way Rewards card, which you can easily pick up at the customer service desk at your local Kmart. You'll need to present your card BEFORE your coupons are scanned, so be sure to hand it over before you begin checking out.

Coupons up to $2.00 will be doubled. Coupons over $2.00 will ring in at the face value of the coupon. You are limited to 5 coupons per day. I'm guessing that they're using the Shop Your Way Rewards card to track this, so multiple transactions won't work.

There are still some good deals to be found if you have a Kmart nearby. Here are some of the best that I've found.

Quaker Oatmeal for $.41 Each

Wow! I scored 5 boxes of Quaker oatmeal today for $2.06! I mentioned earlier that I didn't get to look through my newspaper inserts until Wednesday, and I stumbled upon a great Quaker deal at Kmart. It's not too late for you to get it too.

This week, if you buy participating Quaker items at Kmart, you get them for $2.00 each. Included are some cereal (limited), instant oatmeal, quick oats canister, oatmeal breakfast cookies (not the To-Go bars), and granola bars. There might be more. That's just what I noticed in the store.

When you buy 5 of these items, you get an instant $3 off at checkout. Here's how my transaction went:

Bought 5 Quaker Oatmeals - $10.00
-$3.00 instant savings at checkout (for buying 5)
-$1.00 off printable coupon (Firefox link HERE)

I only had one of the printable coupons. The deal would be even better with multiple copies of the printable!

Note to my local readers: The St. Clairsville Kmart is pretty much out of the oatmeal. They have a great stock of granola bars though!

My Kmart Stores are Doubling!

I got the official email from Kmart... The stores in St. Clairsville and Steubenville, Ohio are participating in a Super Double Coupon event from 4/4 through 4/10! The email also contained the details of the promo:

Manufacturer Coupons up to and including $2 Value - Doubled up to $2 no matter what the retail price of a single item is.

Limit 5 coupons per customer per day.

First 5 coupons presented will be doubled.

Participating stores only.

Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item.

No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item.

Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item.

You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons.

Limit 10 coupons per customer per day.

Excludes Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and Kmart Store and Pharmacy coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Offer excludes products prohibited by law,including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated items, prior purchases, Lands' End, Sears merchandise rung on Sears registers within Kmart and kmart.com. I'm not sure why they're only doubling 5 coupons but accepting 10 per customer. In fact, I'm not sure why they say limit 5 and then limit 10 later in the fine print. This will probably vary by location. If you want to be sure, check with your customer service desk before you shop.

Good News... Maybe

I'm hearing rumors about a possible Double Coupon Event at Kmart in the near future! I must admit that I was pretty excited when I heard the news. I have gotten some really great deals during Kmart's double coupon events in the past! (See HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE) I'm hoping to do the same if they're offering them again.

When I emailed Kmart's customer service department, I received an email back from them asking for specific store locations in question. I sent them the two Kmart stores where I usually shop, and I'm waiting to hear back about the stores' participation. I'll keep you posted!

Who Can Resist a Good Chocolate Deal??

Who Said Nothing in Life is FREE just posted a great deal on chocolate. Of course, none of us can resist a good deal on chocolate, right?

Starting on Sunday 1/31, buy 4 pouches of Hershey or Reese's Pieces. They will be $2.50 each, but you should find a $1.00 off coupon in the 1/31 SmartSource insert. If you can get your hands on 4 coupons, you'll pay $6 for the 4 pouches. When you check out, a rebate form will print. Mail it in with the required information, and you'll receive a $10 Kmart gift card good for a future Hershey product purchase.

You will be paying $6 out-of-pocket, and the rebate is only good for Hershey's products. So, if the extra cash for chocolate isn't in your budget, pass this one by. But if you can use the chocolate for gifts (or a little gift for yourself!), then it's a pretty good deal. As always, weigh out the impact on your budget with the deal you're getting. Then you can decide if it's a good deal for you.

Kmart: Glade Candle Deal

Kmart is offering a great catalina deal on Glade Fragrance Collection Soy Candles or Reed Diffusers right now. If you buy 2, you get a catalina good for $3 off your next Kmart purchase. If you buy 3, you get a catalina for $4 off. If you buy 4, you get a catalina for $5 off.

Here's how the scenario can work:

Buy 4 Glade 2 oz. Soy Candles for $2.50 each
Use 2 of the $3.00 off 2 coupons found HERE
AND Use 2 of the $2.00 off 2 Kmart store coupon found in the Buy More Save More coupon booklet (You'll have to hunt this down at your store.)

We stopped by Kmart after preschool today to take advantage of the fabulous General Mills cereal deal. If you purchase 4 boxes of select GM cereals, you get them for $1.50 each. These boxes are on sale for $2.50 each if you're not buying 4. There are multiple $1.00 off printable coupons available right now. I've listed some for you HERE. Even if you're not a huge cereal eater, these would be a fabulous donation for your local food pantry.

Note: There is a limit of 4 boxes per transaction. My cashier said that it was fine to check out twice.

$10 Gift Card with New or Transferred Prescription

You might want to snag a copy of this week's Kmart circular, because it has a pharmacy gift card coupon in it. The coupon is good for a $10 gift card with a new OR transferred prescription. The coupon is good through 1/30.

General Mills Cereal - $.50 Each

Kmart currently has select General Mills cereals on sale 4 for $6.00. The fine print says that if you purchase less or more than 4, you do not get the $6.00 price. I don't know how that works with multiple transactions, so please let me know if you've tried that. I'm assuming that it's 4 per transaction.

To sweeten this deal, you can use the following coupons. Use four of the $1 off coupons, and you'll pay $2.00 for all 4 boxes!

Kmart has Mr. Potato Head Spud Buds on sale for $6.99 this week. Use the $5 off printable coupon HERE, and you can snag them for $1.99. You should be able to print two copies per computer. (Rather than scrolling through all of the pages of coupons, you can simply click the Toys and Games category on the left. That will narrow things down!)

Even if you have your Christmas shopping done, this might make a nice gift to have on-hand for birthdays, donations, or even next Christmas!

Kmart has the Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase on sale this week for $10. Use the $5 off printable coupon HERE, and you'll get these for $5 each. You should be able to print 2 copies of the coupon per computer.
