Several weeks ago, I emailed some of my favorite manufacturers to ask if they would be willing to send me product coupons. I let them know how much I appreciate their high-quality products and how I prefer to purchase their brands. I also told them that, with food prices on the rise, we were watching our budget very carefully. That oftentimes means purchasing a store brand over their brand. I was very complimentary and appreciative of the hard work that goes into creating great products.
I received several replies stating that they didn't mail out coupons but directing me to the newspaper inserts instead. However, some companies replied to tell me that coupons were on the way!
I received a batch from General Mills two weeks ago. There were coupons for Pillsbury, Big G cereals, and many other items. It was a very nice package! Today I received several 60 cents off coupons from Blue Diamond Almonds. Their sent a letter saying how much they appreciate customers taking the time to write to them.
If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to go to the websites for some of your favorite companies. If you can find a contact page, there's usually an email address for customer service. Try dropping them an email letting them know that you appreciate them and their products. If you request some coupons, you might just get them!
You can also find a list of manufacturers' websites/email addresses at A Full Cup. It was compiled in 2005, so some of the information is dated. However, most of the larger companies haven't changed their web addresses since then, and they are still correct.
