Saving and Giving has moved to savingandgiving.net! I hope that you'll all join me over at Saving & Giving's new home. I'm planning some fun giveaways to kick things off. I'm still working on the site, and I'd love to hear your input. Let me know which features you want me to keep. You can email me at savingandgiving@gmail.com. If you're currently an email subscriber, you shouldn't see any change in your daily email newsletter. I switched the feed over so that you should continue to receive your daily updates.

Recategorizing Extra Care Bucks

I went to CVS this morning -- just a quick trip to pick up a few needed items. I had a great plan that would have me paying around $0 OOP if I used $5.99 of the ECBs I earned earlier this week. I planned to pick up two AMBI soaps so that I would get $6 ECBs back in the process, thus breaking even.

Of course my store didn't have AMBI, but I was able to get to the break even point anyhow. When I heard my total, I reached into my wallet to retrieve my ECBs. It was then that I realized that they were not there! They were in the car with my coupon binder.

What to do? The cashier had already completed my order, and there was another customer in line behind me. Since I had a CVS gift card in my wallet, I just used it. I blew almost $6 from my card because my ECBs were in the wrong place.

I've decided to simply consider ECBs cash, not coupons. I'm going to stash them in my wallet with my cash so that I don't miss out on using them again. I always have my wallet with me. (I usually have my coupon binder too, but this was a really quick trip.) So from this point on, ECBs are officially cash in my book!
