Saving and Giving has moved to savingandgiving.net! I hope that you'll all join me over at Saving & Giving's new home. I'm planning some fun giveaways to kick things off. I'm still working on the site, and I'd love to hear your input. Let me know which features you want me to keep. You can email me at savingandgiving@gmail.com. If you're currently an email subscriber, you shouldn't see any change in your daily email newsletter. I switched the feed over so that you should continue to receive your daily updates.

Shortcuts.com - My First Experience

I used Shortcuts.com for the first time this past week. This free website service allows you to load e-coupons onto your shopping card. I loaded mine onto my Kroger card, and I wondered the whole time if they would really show up on my receipt. I didn't get to watch the screen during checkout, but I did check my receipt after shopping.

I panicked at first because the e-coupons didn't show up at the bottom of my receipt in the area where the rest of my coupons are listed. But I scanned the rest of the receipt, and they were there. They are automatically applied when the items are scanned. For example, my e-coupon for Chex Mix bars was directly under the price of the bars themselves. You can also pair their coupons with manufacturer's coupons for the same items. So I saved even more.

What I learned was that you can only use the e-coupon for one item. I had purchased two boxes of the Chex bars, but I only got one e-coupon deducted. That's what I learned by using Shortcuts.com for the first time. But I certainly can't complain about free coupons that I don't even have to clip!

If you haven't tried Shortcuts.com, I encourage you to give it a try.
