Lesson Learned from a CVS Trip

The lesson I learned this week is pretty simple.... Stock up on cold and flu supplies before cold and flu season hits your household! I don't know why I didn't do it this year, but now it's too late. My daughter has a cold, and we're almost out of her medicine. That meant a stop today to buy some. And that meant buying it when it isn't on sale. That meant buying it with NO coupon!

Fortunately, I had accumulated a nice stash of CVS Extra Care Bucks over the past weeks, and I was able to use some of those to cover the cost. I only ended up paying tax, but I sacrificed some of my Extra Care Bucks in the process.

I know that different stores are advertising cold and flu supply sales right now. I highly recommend taking stock of what's in your medicine cabinet (including a check of expiration dates) to make sure that you have a good supply of what you'll need if you or your family happens to get sick. If you find something lacking, watch for a sale, and get it when it's inexpensive. Don't make the same mistake that I did and end up paying full price. Talk about something making you sick!

I came across your blog from Southern Savers. I did that EXACT same thing this week. So sad that I had to sacrifice some ECB :( Isn't it funny how you can get so possessive of those bucks.

Just saw your blog link on Money Saving Mom ... yep, this is a tough lesson and so frustrating. It can happen to any of us with any item that we need, but meds just seem so ridiculously expensive! I wish I could ship some of mine to you. :) I did stock up and so far we haven't needed any of it ~ the 75% deals that I got may or may not come in handy, afterall.

I look forward to checking out the rest of your blog!

Oh, I was just there a couple of months ago. Ds had emergency surgery and needed Tylenol only. Yeah, we had lots of Motrin, but no liquid Tylenol. That wasn't fun paying full price for that one. I hope your daughter is better!

Oh darn... I hate when that happens. Thank goodness for Extrabucks though! They help take the sting out of it.
